newlineABSTRACT
newlinePharmaceutical drugs and crimes are an ongoing debate in the contemporary world. These

newlineInjections. The pharmaceutical drugs and crimes come under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940
newlineand Rules, 1945, and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. The objective
newlineof the study is to explore pharmaceutical drugs and crimes in India. This research has attempted
newlineto address the trends, patterns, and challenges of pharmaceutical drugs and crimes in our country.
newlineThe present research is based on the exploratory research design and mixed methods (a
newlinecombination of quantitative and qualitative approaches) and adopted a grounded theory
newlinemethodology. The secondary data sources are from the Narcotics Control Bureau, Annual Report
newlinepublished by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The data has been analyzed
newlinestatistically from the year 2011 to 2020. The primary data sources are from the Criminal Justice
newlineSystem and Stakeholders involved the drugs control in India. The data has been analyzed
newlinethematically based on the objective. Pharmaceutical drugs and crimes are more dangerous than
newlineany other crimes and have deteriorating health consequences for the public at large.
