dc.description.abstractABSTRACT newlineLiterary people, today, are exploring gender issues, nature, ecology, culture, feminism and many newlineother schools of thought in the field of literary and critical theory. The review of existing literature newlineon feminism and ecology indicate that though a lot of works have been done on various female newlineIndian writers in English, an ecofeminist analysis of a regional writer has hardly been attempted newlinesystematically. This perspective is neglected and unexplored to a great extent for research work. newlineHence, the present study Ecofeminist Perspectives in the Select Novels of Dr. Indira Goswami newlineis aimed at analyzing the significant issue of ecofeminism with reference to the writings of a newlineregional author. India is a nation with a number of rich cultures, that varies from region to region newlineand this study would portray the Assamese society with its customs and norms through the writings newlineof Dr. Indira Goswami. The Introduction chapter describes the history of ecofeminism and newlineenumerates the many female-focused literary movements. Discussing how women integrate into newlinesociety, how they are connected to the environment, and how they strive to safeguard local newlineecosystems are the main topics of this chapter. The review of the literature is covered in Chapter newline2, along with the goals of the study, its social significance, research methodology, and its newlineconstraints.
