Abstract
This thesis mainly consist of five chapters describing the evaluation of potent and#61537;-glucosidase
newlineinhibitor for treatment of diabetes. First chapter introduces diabetes and it s therapeutic approaches
newlineand also it describes various existing potent inhibitors. Second chapter involves design, synthesis,
newlinein vitro and in vivo studies of a novel library of and#61537;-arylketones as potential inhibitors of and#61537;-
newlineglucosidase. Chapter three includes detailed study of design, synthesis and in vitro study of densely
newlinefunctionalized oxindoles as potent and#61537;-glucosidase inhibitors. Fourth and fifth chapter describes the
newlinedesign and synthesis of novel pyridone based and#61537;-glucosidase inhibitors along with their biological
newlineevaluation, in vitro ADME-Tox and in vivo pharmacokinetics studies.
