dc.description.abstractIn a hyper-competitive business world, Information Technology (IT) newlinecompanies believe that human resources are their asset and effective newlineleadership style adopted by their leaders are the two success mantra which newlinedrives them forward in achieving the organizational objectives. Leadership is newlinean extremely significant factor in an organization because the majority of newlinesuccess and failure of an organization is determined by leadership. As result, newlineleaders need to invest in upskilling employees, to support and motivate them newlinein the face of steep learning curves and highly demanding challenges. newlineHenceforth, there is a need for such kind of research which provides the IT newlinecompanies with a toolbox of tips to reach peak performance levels through the newlineuse of specific leadership styles. For this research, the IT companies are newlineselected based on NASSCOM s (The National Association of Software and newlineServices Companies) ranking of IT Industries as top six companies were newlineselected. The sample size used for the research is 559 using quota sampling newlinemethod. The descriptive statistical tools (i.e. frequency analysis, mean and newlinestandard deviation) and inferential statistical analysis tools like correlation, newlineregression, one-way ANOVA, chi-square, and t-test were done to analyze the newlinedata. newlineThe outcome of the study has given many insights such as the newlinedemographic profile of the IT professionals (i.e. gender, age group, newlinequalification, experience, job category) influences their perception towards the newlineleadership styles of their superiors and their job performance. Among the newlinethree leadership styles adopted by the leaders in the IT companies, the IT newlineprofessionals have exhibited better satisfaction towards transformation newlineleaders, while compared to free rein leaders, and transactional leaders. newlineHowever, all three leadership styles have a significant positive contribution to newlineleadership in IT companies.
