dc.description.abstractii newlineABSTRACT newlineAluminum is being used widely across a wide range of global industries, such as newlinetransportation, aerospace, marine, structural, household, military, etc., due to its newlineadvantageous properties, such as being lightweight, corrosion resistant, and having a high newlinedegree of thermal conductivity. However, to further improve its strength-to-weight ratio newlineand meet the industry demand, novel techniques, such as stir casting and ultrasonic stir newlinecasting, are being used to fabricate aluminum-based metal matrix composite materials and newlineimprove the distribution of reinforcement particles in these aluminum composites. newlineMoreover, the casting and finishing (machining) of such parts involve the utilization of a newlinehuge amount of energy, which can be directly associated with sensitive issues such as newlineenvironmental protection or resource efficiency. The focus of the current study is on similar newlineinterest, and it includes the fabrication of Al-Ti based metal matrix nanocomposite using newlineultrasonic stir casting techniques, machinability assessment of Al-Ti based nanocomposite, newlineand sustainability assessment of different cooling techniques while performing machining newlineoperations. newlineThe thesis begins with an introduction to aluminum types and their application in various newlinesectors. Moreover, it also highlights the usage of aluminium as a matrix material for newlinemanufacturing metal matrix composites. Subsequently, the role of life cycle assessment in newlinethe manufacturing sector is also elaborated. The literature review identifies gaps in existing newlineresearch and underscores the importance of conducting experiments for the fabrication of newlineAl-Ti based metal matrix nanocomposite, machinability assessment of fabricated newlinecomposites, and environmental impact assessments for the whole processes, including newlinecasting and machining. newlineThe methodology section presents a robust experimentation procedure for manufacturing newlineof Al-Ti based metal matrix nanocomposites (A380+1%wt of TiO2), experimental design newlinefor machining of Al-Ti based composites (a full factorial box Behnken te
