Abstract

The present thesis focuses on the synthesis and evaluation of aminic and benzylamine-based organoselenium compounds, along with 1,3-benzoselenazoles. It provides an overview of oxidative stress-related diseases, ferroptosis, lipid peroxidation, radical-trapping antioxidants, selenium s antioxidant role, GPx-mimetic behaviour, and computational methods (DFT, docking, MD). Synthesized compounds were structurally characterized (including X-ray crystallography) and exhibited strong GPx-like activity, anti-ferroptotic effects, antibacterial activity against E. coli and S. aureus, and promising anticancer potential supported by molecular docking studies. newline
