Post traumatic growth resilience and adjustment among childless and bereaved

Abstract

The present research study was conducted to assess the posttraumatic growth, resilience and newlineadjustment between childless and bereaved couples. The results obtained in the present study newlinewere entirely based on the standard statistical procedures after using the standardized newlinepsychological tools. In the present study 200 adults have been taken as sample out of which newline100 was childless couples and whereas 100 was bereaved couples. Their age range was between newline30 to 50 years. The sample was collected by purposive type of sampling method. Data was newlinecollected from nearby areas of Lucknow and Kanpur. For the present research various variables newlinewere used. Childless couples and bereaved couples served as independent variables whereas newlinepost-traumatic growth, resilience and adjustment as dependent variables. Mean, standard newlineDeviation and t value was used to analyzed the data and find the relationship between newlineindependent variable and dependent variabls. On the basis of the resul it was found that post newlinetraumatic growth, resilience and adjustment play a key role in the life of bereaved and childless newlinecouples. The results were very interesting. They revealed that posttraumatic growth was newlinecomparatively high among bereaved couples in comparision to childless couples whereas other newlinetwo variables i.e, resilience and adjustment were high among childless couples. newline
