Certain investigations and performance analysis on detection of metastasis lung cancer

Abstract

Lung cancer has become a life-threatening disease that endangers the life and health of people all over the world. It is caused by the uncontrolled growth of tissues in the lung. According to the GLOBOCAN 2012 report, the estimated incidence of lung cancer in India was 70,275 in all ages and both sexes. At present, there are huge number of tests such as Computer Tomography (CT) scans, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and X-ray etc. available to diagnose the disease. The early detection and diagnosis of nodules in CT image are among the most challenging clinical tasks performed by radiologist. Various researches are being carried out with different image processing techniques for lung cancer identification and categorization. But those techniques are expensive, more time consuming and does not provide satisfactory classification results in the lung cancer identification. Hence, a new classification approach is essential for lung cancer prompt prediction. newline
