Abstract

Road transport and its advancement in recent days plays major role as a part of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). ITS mainly focused for enhancing safety management, traffic management, travel assistance, vehicle diagnostics, environment and user health monitoring techniques. Road safety is a major public health concern and still it continues to be a developmental issue. Applications of renewable energy in transportation field is an emerging key area and provide enormous features especially for electrification with reduced CO2 emissions and act as best alternative for other energy consumptions like vehicle based on petrol or diesel. The foremost objective of this research study is to enhance the road safety with the support of artificial intelligence methods and also support for sustainable road transport with the applications of renewable energy. In the context of road safety improvement, in proposed work I, road accidents data from Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH), India during 2011- 2020 are comprehensively examined in order to determine the effective factors that influence the road accidents which is greatly support to prevent the occurrence of accidents or reduce the crash severity. Empirical road accidents data with total accidents, persons killed, persons injured are analysed and evaluated with Pareto charts, Pearson correlation matrix and ANOVA General Linear Model (GLM) using Minitab 18.0 software. newline
