A Study of Relevance of Gandhian Thoughts in Current Business Scenario

Abstract

It is very important to understand the development of Indian Management and economic development. As it is much dependent on the philosophies of Mahatma Gandhi, directly and indirectly. Though we might have forgotten the past but still the ideology must be understood to give a uniform direction of the sustainable business practices not only in India but to be around the world. India might have achieved the economic progress in terms of the purchase power and GDP growth, but still, we have to analyze the data on various parameters of the socio-environmental aspect. It just not only be focused on the socio-economic aspect but also on the index of happiness with non-possession and satisfaction at all levels of human development. newlineIt is a study of the Impact of various philosophers, writer, religious texts on Mahatma Gandhi. Throughout his life he studied various situations and witnessed the same during his social struggles. He clearly understood the message from every incident of his life. He conveyed all his thoughts through his daily speeches, newspaper articles and books. We can clearly see some of his theories in past and present being proven rights in some or the other way. Government of India also had understood the need of social development rather developing only the economy. Government of India has helped its citizens through the process of decentralization and development of Cottage Industry. Khadi and Village Industries Commission has played a pivotal role in upbringing the village business on an International level. In this study we will study some of the initiatives of Government of India like Make in India, Aatmnirbhar Bharat, Swachh Bharat Mission, Khadi and Village Industries Commission through research of monetary data, social impact, cost benefit analysis. We would also try to find out the efforts of Government for uplifting the village business practices though KVIC policies and will understand how some basic support may have helped people to grow at such a large level.
