The diabetic foot ulcers are commonly found in patients having diabetes, associated with slow rate of recovery. This is the study of dietary modification in diabetic foot ulcer recovery for assessing the outcome of diabetic foot ulcer recovery. This study aims to assess the validity and effectiveness of dietary modification, HbA1c control, awareness status regarding diabetic foot with foot care technique and harmful effect of uncontrolled diabetes in foot ulcer healing in diabetic patients. This study was conducted in the department of plastic Surgery, Bansal Hospital Bhopal (M.P), over the period from January 2020 to January 2022. A descriptive study was carried out in 300 diabetic patients with foot ulcers. The data collection included demographics, medical diagnoses, ulcer healing duration, dietary follow-up, HbA1c results and final outcome was recorded. The final outcome was assessed at 3rd follow up. About 100 (33.3%) patients recovered fully mostly from the group of following their diet, whereas those are partially following the diet observed slow recovery in 54.3% cases and the maximum amputation was found in 12.3% cases from the group who are not following diet, they have uncontrolled HbA1c also. In our study Only 5.7% patients were aware regarding the diabetic foot whereas remaining 94.3% patients had no awareness regarding the diabetic foot, we found lack of awareness status of diabetic foot in diabetic patients. The holistic care is mandatory in diabetic foot ulcer recovery, dietary modification, HbA1c levels and foot care, were strongly associated with faster recovery and elevated HbA1c and the habit of not focusing on foot care and dietary modification was associated with poor prognosis in terms of foot ulcer healing, it will become a main cause of foot amputation. The awareness status regarding diabetic foot and foot care in diabetic population plays crucial role in prevention of diabetic foot ulcer. newline
