dc.description.abstractThe study is both empirical and descriptive; the primary and secondary data have been used for analysis. The overall progress of SHGs is being assessed with the help of secondary data which are collected from the published sources like Noted publication of Govt. of India. Viz. Yojana, Kurukshetra, Annual reports and records of NABARD District Rural Development Agency, collection of research in available to other universities, preparation of profile from various magazines and research journals, newspaper, internet. The primary data were collected with the help of questionnaire for respondents. The scheduled included questions related to general information about income, expenditure, credit utilization and repayment, credit plus activities, influence of SHG on village and community affairs, opinions of beneficiaries, income generating activities and self employment etc. Similarly first hand newlinexi newlineinformation collected through questionnaire with member or respondent of SHG. newlineSampling Design: newlineSampling method has been used for selecting the member of SHGs as the respondents for the purpose of study. The Latur District has been selected purposelly for the detail study. The number of SHGs contacted for data collection should be restricted to manageable numbers. In first stage stratified random sampling was used for selection of 300 SHGs for study. In second stage stratification was based on urban and rural location of SHGs. Five SHGs have been selected from urban and semi-urban area all 10 Tahasils, similarly 250 SHGs from rural area of 10 Tahasils of the latur District. newlineStatistical Tools adopted: newlineAfter the field survey was over, the entire survey schedule were thoroughly scrutinized to correct the inconsistencies in responses and edited. Then all data collected were coded, and processed so as to have the required tables and the results of statistical proof.
