An effective framework for enhancement of security and performance for cloud computing SePeCLOUD

Abstract

Over the past years Cloud is viewed as a huge provider of resources over the Internet From storing the data to development of projects cloud has been found to play a critical role on enterprise as well as business analytical level Here comes the role of security with no compromise in performance with optimal storage in the cloud environment DROPS Division and Replication of Data in Cloud for optimal Performance and Security is a strategy that has been utilized for optimizing the performance and security in cloud storage systems As huge number of files is being uploaded on regular basis there are high chances of storing duplicate files on the cloud that would lead to unnecessary storage This in turn could lower the performance of the cloud environment The main aim of this research is to enhance the security and performance of the cloud systems by integrating different approaches This research proposes security and performance enhancement with efficient newlinestorage management on the cloud SePeCloud that includes fog based deduplication privacy preserving techniques dynamic updating mechanism with self destruction scheme for the data on the cloud In the first phase of the research DROPS with deduplication and fog computing based deduplication are proposed as SePeCloudv1 1 and SePeCloudv1 2 respectively In SePeCloudv1 1 the performance of DROPS is enhanced by avoiding the uploading of duplicate files This is achieved by verifying the Merkle Hash Tree value of the contents on the cloud servers But as the latency of deduplication process is increased due to the uploading of duplicate files on frequent basis SePeCloudv1 2 is introduced Here fog computing based deduplication strategy manages these massive and frequent uploading of duplicate files by using the fog devices Thus the proposed methodology reduces the latency of deduplication process efficiently newline newline
