Mechanization of agricultural production in Punjab 1950 to2010

Abstract

To fully understand the impact of mechanization in twentieth century Punjab, I studied the topic in a larger context, keeping in mind the history of the subject. So the historical trajectory of introducing farm implements from ancient to modern period in the world and India form part of the research. As the topic is based on Punjab agricultural mechanization, I have along with studying and researching the aspect also analysed the changes the Green Revolution and mechanization brought to the state. The government initiatives, private contributions, and their impact on the economy and society have been discussed. This thesis is my submission towards studying the mechanization of agriculture in a historical context with special emphasis on my state of Punjab. newline
