Abstract
Recent researches have been carried out in investigating diverse aspects in connection with low power routing protocols Wireless Sensor Network WSN is a set of sensor nodes that are accessible in different forms to receive the data from different sensors namely vibration acoustic temperature pressure humidity moisture navigation chemical etc WSN is broadly available in different fields like transportation management health care military surveillance etc WSN has different sets of communication to collect the sensor data In case of direct communication the consumption of energy is more due to direct link between the nodes and base station which leads to reduction of network life time the time until the first sensor node runs out of energy In case of indirect communication the data is communicated through multihops The use of multi hops reduces the consumption of sensor nodes energy and further increases the network lifetime by data aggregation method However the multi hop communication leads to interference between the nodes which affect the network performance and throughput To reduce the interference and delay cluster based data gathering is carried out in WSN The main objective of this research work is to design an optimized cluster based routing protocol to improve the sensor network performance This research is focused towards design and development of meta heuristic algorithm to improve the energy efficiency of the network for internal and external environment
