Abstract
The presence of natural As in groundwater is a global issue. The occurrence of As in
newlinegroundwater is serious in entire South-East Asia notably in BDP (Bangladesh, West Bengal,
newlineIndia). Serious concern has been picked towards As exposure because As is one of the
newlinecarcinogenic metalloid and high exposure can cause several health effect (skin lesson,
newlinepigmentation, hyper keratosis, neurological disorder, cardiovascular disorder and even
newlinecancer). State of West Bengal (India) is already recognized as As hotspot because millions
newlineof rural people are suffering from arsenicosis as well as exposure risk. The problem is more
newlinecompounded because both water [primary source and consumption of locally grown food
newline(mostly rice)] are already identified towards contribution of As exposure for human health.
