Abstract
The ability of individuals to generate and manipulate things to meet their
newlinerequirements has been closely linked to the development and advancement of the
newlinesociety. In earlier days, the level of material development has been used to classify
newlinecivilizations (Stone age, Bronze age, and Iron age). The material development aid to
newlinehuman needs gets evolved day by day. In this regard, nanoscience and
newlinenanotechnology are new era of materials fabrication due to its outstanding
newlineadvantages. Hence numerous interest have been paid by the scientific community
newlinetowards development of nanomaterials aligned with different applications. The
newlinenanomaterials (NMs) serve as a link between individual molecules and infinite bulk
newlinesystems. Clusters, nanoparticles, nanocrystals, quantum dots, nanowires, and
newlinenanotubes are examples of individual nanostructures. The physical and chemical
newlineproperties of the NMs are greatly differ from bulk counterparts.
newlineTill date, numerous inorganic based NMs, such as oxides, silicates, borates,
newlinefluorites, aluminates, tungstates, vanadates, etc. are explored in detailed. Among
newlinethem, particularly metal oxides have been gained prominence in the realm of
newlineluminescence due to their superior optoelectronic properties. They could be used as
newlineefficient phosphors in flat panel displays, solar energy converters, optical amplifiers,
newlineelectroluminescent devices, photodiodes, bio-detectors, lamp industries, radiation
newlinedosimetry, and color display, among other applications. As of today, strontium
newlinealuminates are also considered as one of the best host material because of their
newlinestable crystal structure, high physical and chemical stability, long persistence time
newlineand good formability.
newlineSeveral efforts have been made to synthesize nano-sized phosphors by
newlinedifferent routes namely, hydrothermal, sol gel techniques, co-precipitation, solid
newlinestate method, molten salt, spray pyrolysis, combustion routes, etc. The use of toxic
newlineand volatile solvents/chemicals during the synthesis of the NMs followed by
newlinetraditional routes may cause environmental an
