Abstract

Aluminum composite materials are more popular than any other composites because of their unique characteristics. Aluminum materials shaping future of the Automobiles, Airplanes and Ships etc. Because of their advantageous characteristics their application area is widening every passing day, resulting in improvement in efficiency of the system in which it is used. This is inevitable till the new materials having superior qualities than the existing Aluminum materials are invented. Many of the material inventors are in the direction of achieving the same and succeeding day by day. Research in the material field is inevitable because of the need of the customer and the people who to have superior quality product. Customers are expecting more form the industry related to the quality, performance and efficiency of the products. But the industries are mainly depending on the materials they using to make the components, parts and products. Who uses the best suitable material in their product his/her product will have more demand in the market and that leads to more revenue and profit. The major part of product life cycle is the design and development of the components. During design process suitable materials will be selected. If more the materials available to make a component then there will be more varieties of products available in the market with more different features. To make this possible, to add one more material to the material world this study has been done and material has been produced. By this study, an investigation of properties of aluminum metal matrix composite (MMC s) material reinforced with Carbon fiber and E-Glass is made. In this investigation Aluminum alloy LM25 (Al LM25) reinforced with Carbon fiber(CF), E-Glass(GF) and both by excitation casting process . MMC s are casted by stir casting method are having more advantages compared with other methods. And proper care is taken toput reinforcements uniformly throughout the metal matrix. The hybrid composite is prepared with the help of oil furnace
