Synthesis and Biological Activities of Metal Chelates Containing Pyridine and Pyrimidine Moieties

Abstract

Schiff base ligands and their transition metal complexes containing 2- newlineaminopyridine and 2-aminopyrimidine nuclei are synthesized, characterized, and newlinetheir pharmacological properties are examined in this thesis. Synthesizing, newlinecharacterizing, and examining the biological activities of synthesized Schiff base newlineligands and their metal complexes is a remarkable task for researchers. newlineIn this study, we used alumina-anhydrous tri-potassium phosphate under newlinemicrowave irradiation to synthesize a novel series of Schiff base ligands derived newlinefrom 2-aminopyridine and 2-aminopyrimidine with various substituted newlinebenzaldehydes. The stated imine synthesis technique is effective in terms of low newlinereaction time, a simple reaction procedure, an eco-friendly atmosphere, and a high newlineproduct yield. Several spectroscopic techniques were used to confirm each newlinesynthesized Schiff base. newlineScheme newline
