Abstract

The civil engineering structures such as transmission towers, sheet pile walls, railroad/highway newlinebridge abutments, earth retaining walls, guyed lattice towers, tension cable for suspension newlinebridges, buried pipes lines etc. are often subjected to uplift/pullout forces, overturning moments newlineor combination of these forces. Many times, such structures experience these forces much newlinegreater than the weight of the structure itself which ultimately leads to the catastrophic failure. newlineThe soil anchors can be one of the solutions to resists such types of forces and can be efficiently newlinemitigate the damages from the vagaries of natural forces.
