Structural magnetic and transport properties of some electron doped rare earth manganite

Abstract

The study of magnetic properties and thermoelectric properties of some rare-earth doped newlineperovskite manganite oxide in experimental condensed matter physics has attracted much newlineattention due to its rich variety of properties. In this thesis temperature and magnetic field newlinedependent magnetic properties and temperature variation thermoelectric properties of some newlineelectron doped polycrystalline manganite has been studied in details. A series of electron-doped newlinemanganites Ca 0.85 R 0.15 MnO 3 (R = Gd, Nd, Sm, La) are synthesized through solid state reaction newlineprocess and schematic study on structural properties, magnetic properties and thermoelectric newlineproperties of these compounds are carried out. Phase purity and structural information of these newlinecompounds are determined by the use of Rietveld refinement programme on corresponding X- newlineray diffraction profile by FULLPROF software. Magnetization measurement of these compounds newlinehas been performed through VSM magnetometer and quantum design SQUID magnetometer. newlineMagnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect behavior are studied through experimental DC newlinemagnetization data. Two basic protocol has adopted for performing magnetization measurement, newlinethose are zero field cooled (ZFC) and field cooled (FC). Most of the synthesized material newlinedisplays more or less same qualitative behaviour with slightly small variation of magnetic newlineproperties and as well as magnetocaloric effect. newline
