Abstract

Higher education institutions (HEI) are backbone for employment, research advancement and socio-economic development of Nation. Understanding the dynamics of higher education management is essential for scholars, policymakers, and institutional leaders. This research empirically analyses higher education management practices in Arunachal Pradesh. We adopted quantitative methodology in this study, encompassing data collection from 60 institutions across Arunachal Pradesh. Multiple regression was utilized in this study to analyse the establishment characteristics, innovation framework, legal framework, governance structures, funding mechanisms, growth trajectory, and identified challenges. The findings reveal nuanced differences in the influence of various factors on higher education management across different contexts in Arunachal Pradesh. The study emphasizes the importance of context specific approaches in higher education management, necessitating tailored strategies for rural vs urban settings, private vs public institutions, and universities vs colleges within Arunachal Pradesh. Such insights pave the way for targeted interventions and policy initiatives aimed to improve overall management of higher education in the state. The study provides crucial recommendations for future policy design of HEIs in Arunachal Pradesh, emphasizing the need for strategic improvements. Innovation is a critical driver of progress in higher education, with universities serving as hubs for the generation and dissemination of new ideas. This study delves into the innovation practices and policies within universities in Arunachal Pradesh, India, employing a comprehensive analysis rooted in the Triple Helix Model. The primary objectives are to explore the factors influencing innovation adoption, assess their impact, and identify relationships among these factors. Through mixed research methods, including qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys, insights were gained from academic, industry, and government stakeholders.
