Integrated Solutions for Nextgeneration Wireless Networks Uavassisted Radio Over FSO and Hybrid FSO RF Communication Systems for Reliable Connectivity

Abstract

By 2030, the International Telecommunication Union anticipates that the newlinetotal amount of mobile data traffic will reach an astounding 5 zettabytes per month. newlineTo accommodate this traffic, a high data rate communication system is the first newlinerequirement, and to fulfill this demand, any communication system should have a newlinelarge bandwidth as well as link availability in all scenarios. The best solution for this newlineproblem is the integration of the technology with each other to provide reliable newlineconnectivity in the next-generation wireless networks. The non-terrestrial networks newline(NTNs) are considered part of 5G beyond standards, and to support NTNs, unmanned newlineaerial vehicles (UAVs) are going to play the biggest role. The cell coverage area is newlinefurther going to decreased by 100s of meters to 10s of meters. The Free-space optical newline(FSO) communication system seems the best candidate for this integration with other newlinecommunication systems. The work presented in this thesis utilized the concept of FSO newlineintegration with radio over fiber and radio frequency (millimeter wave/terahertz) newlinecommunication systems, and further analysis was carried out newline
