Impact of integrated health program package on the knowledge and skills of ANMs in healthcare service delivery in two districts of Haryana a pre post study design

Abstract

The present study was conducted to assess the impact of Integrated Health Program Package on the knowledge and skills of ANMs in Health care service delivery in two districts of Haryana. The impact of the intervention package in the current study has been determined by significant (plt.0001) percentage increase in knowledge scores (23%) and skill scores (23%) of health workers in various National Health Programs from baseline to endline. This study provides preliminary evidence that considerable improvement in Community Health Workers knowledge and skill scores can be achieved by means of trainings based on comprehensive training package for health care workers and emphasizing on improving their practical knowledge and skills. Further, this study highlights the urgent need for continuous ongoing training along with refresher or reorientation trainings on latest guidelines, which should be provided to health care workers on regular basis. newline
