| dc.description.abstract | This research endeavours to address two critical aspects in the realm of newlineconcrete construction: one is the sustainable reutilization of waste newlinepolyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles as fiber and the other is the newlinedevelopment of an eco-friendly corrosion-resistant coating for steel rebars newlineutilised in concrete. The main objective of the research is to enhance the newlineflexural property of the concrete by incorporating the fibers into it. As the newlinePET waste are the main cause for the landfill and dispose it can be utilized in newlinethe form of fibers in the concrete. And to develop an Extract from the Peel of newlinethe pomegranate fruit as corrosion resistant coat over the steel. The primary newlinework of the research focuses mainly on converting PET bottles into thin fibers newlineand integrating them into M40 grade concrete, and assessing their impact on newlinecompressive, split tensile, flexural strength, and compressive stress-strain newlinecurve characteristics. Aspect ratios of 4, 8, and 12 for the PET fibers are newlineinvestigated, with a comparative analysis by revealing the optimum fiber size newlinefor enhancing mechanical strength performance of the concrete. newlineElastic modulus of the beam was determined from the stress-strain newlinebehaviour of the beam. The improvement in the modulus of elasticity was newlineshown for the beam with an aspect ratio of 4. It also improves resistance newlineagainst the bending stress of the concrete. newline | |
