Mathematical modelling is an activity to identify the problems in terms of mathematics and then find their solutions It consists essentially of transforming real world problems into mathematical problems solving the mathematical problems and interpreting these solutions in the language of the real world Mathematical modelling can be used for a number of different reasons How well any particular objective is achieved depends on both the state of knowledge about a system and how well the modelling is done newlineMathematical modeling in biology is the applications of mathematical methods to problems arise in biology and life sciences The increasing use of mathematics in biology is necessary as biology becomes more quantitative It is an important tool to understand the dynamics of many biological processes eg epidemiology ecology virology etc A mathematical model of infectious diseases has been developed to predict the future prevalence of these diseases under different infection control strategies in the population Nowadays HIVAIDS epidemic has become a serious crisis worldwide However to fully understand this crisis we must first understand what HIVAIDS is HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus and AIDS stands for Acquired Immuno deficiency Syndrome When HIV progresses it turns into AIDS, this happens when CD4 cells commonly known as white blood cells count drops below twohundred at this point the immune system fails to function and the body cant fight against disease and thus disease progresses in the absence of antiretroviral therapy HIVAIDS is a major cause of death currently killing about 2 million people worldwide each year newline newline
