Comparative Clinical Study on the Therapeutic Effect of Saraswatharista and Jaladhara in Nidranasha WSR to Insomnia

Abstract

Objectives 1. To evaluate the therapeutic effect of Saraswatharista in Nidranasha 2. To evaluate the therapeutic effect of Jaladhara in Nidranasha 3. To compare the therapeutic effect of Saraswatharista with Jaladhara in Nidranasha. Design - Study Type: Interventional; Allocation: Randomized; End point classification: efficacy study; Intervention Model: Parallel Assignment; Masking: Open Label; Primary Purpose: Treatment Setting Sindagi Shantaveereshwara Ayurveda Hospital, Haveri, Karnataka; Participants: From October 2019 to march 2022, 120 patients of Nidranasha (Insomnia) newlinediagnosed clinically on the basis of symptoms of Nidranasha and DSM-IV-TR criteria for newlineInsomnia; Aged between 16 to 60 years was randomly categorized into Saraswatharista group and Jaladhara group. Interventions 20 ml of Saraswatharista : BD after food for 7 days and Jaladhara for 30 minutes once a day, for 7 consecutive days. Primary outcome measures - Insomnia Screening Questionnaire (ISQ). Secondary outcome measures Symptoms of Nidranasha. Results Both the types of treatment gave significant result in signs and symptoms of Nidranasha (Insomnia) Objective parameters like Nidranasha Lakshana and Assessment criteria like Insomnia Screening Questionnaire. But statistically Jaladhara provided more result when compared to the Saraswatharista in Initiating the Sleep , Increasing the duration of the sleep newline,Reducing the time of disturbed sleep. Conclusion In this clinical trial Jaladhara is more effective as compare to the Saraswatharista. newline
