Abstract
he International Diabetes Federation (IDF) released an atlas with global facts and
newlinefigures of Type I and II diabetes as well as best practices and with management
newlineguidelines. The Atlas introduced in the year 2015, is the 7th edition and the recent edition
newlineis the 9th edition, which has been introduced in 2019. The facts reported in 2015 are that
newlinethere are 415 million people diagnosed with type II diabetes and the statistics of 9th
newlineedition is in line with the predicted growth of 463 million people worldwide with
newlinediabetes. The Atlas 2019 estimates that these numbers will grow to 578 million and 700
newlinemillion by 2030 and 2045 respectively. The Southeast Asia fact sheet further reports that
newlinethere are 77 million people in India with diabetes mellitus
