Design and Development of Natural Fibers Reinforced With Polyethylene Polymer Matrix Composites

Abstract

Research that is carried out on developing of the multi-functional type of poly-ethylene fibres in reinforcement category of polymer-based matrix composites is presented in this thesis. The use of polymer type of matrix-based reinforcement by woven fabrics could be a popular choice for composite structures in a no. of applications, considering aircrafts, ships, and automobiles. Although the aircraft industry frequently uses high temp. cured processes for composite part fabrications, there is potential for improvized type of fast manufactured composite to be utilized. newlineThis is especially true for aerospace part that are exposed to nominal temperature and stress, as alternative materials and processes can significantly reduce costs while maintaining appropriate performance levels. This topic focuses on the design and development of multifunctional polyethylene fibers reinforced polymer matrix composites. These composites are a promising material with high strength, stiffness, and durability, making them suitable for various engineering applications. This work explores the fabrication techniques, mechanical properties and potential applications of these composites. Additionally, it discusses the challenges and future directions for further research and development of this promising material. newlinePolymer matrix composites (PMCs) has got good attentions in various industrial and domestic apps due to their excellent mech. and physical property. Recently, researchers have explored the use of multifunctional polyethylene (PE) fibers as a reinforcement material for PMCs. The works which is presented in this report gives an exhaustive presentation of design and development of multifunctional polyethylene fibre reinforced PMCs. The fabrication techniques, mechanical properties and potential applications of these composites are discussed in greater detail. Moreover, the challenges and future directions for further research and development of these composites are highlighted. The results show that multifunctional polyethylene fiber reinforced P
