Aquaculture needs to increase an additional 121.6 metric tons by the year newline2030 to fulfill the demand of 183 metric ton consumption of fish 22.4 kg per capita. newlinePeople are using fish as an important diet before the beginning of civilization. In newlinemodern era when obesity is regarded as a silent pandemic, fish is preferred as newlineimportant dietary animal protein source in human nutrition referred to as white meat. newlineBesides, it contains all the essential amino acids and minerals viz., iodine, newlinephosphorus, potassium, iron, copper and vitamins in desirable concentrations while newlinelow in carbohydrate, unsaturated fat contents and provides a healthy dose of newlinepolyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids that are reported to regulate lipid metabolism newlineresulting in protection again cardiovascular diseases.
