Monte Carlo Investigation of Isingmodelled Single Walled Nanotube

Abstract

Ising model is one of the simplest interacting models to investigate the phase transition in the magnetic newlinesystem. It was introduced by Wilhelm Lenz in 1920 and developed by his student Ernest Ising in 1924. newlineOriginally this model was proposed to study phase transition in ferromagnetic systems. However, newlineErnest Ising found that the one-dimensional Ising model did not undergo phase transition. Later, Lars newlineOnsager (1944) found an exact solution for two dimensional Ising model in the absence of a magnetic newlinefield and found the existence of phase transition from a ferromagnetic phase to a paramagnetic phase. newlineLet us consider a two-dimensional Ising model, which consists of spins (Si) in the lattice sites. Each newlinespin can take a value +1/and#8722;1 for spin up/spin down, respectively. newline
