Intelligent load frequency control of multi area hybrid power system

Abstract

A controller based on Interval type 2 fuzzy logic technique, is utilized in this thesis to manage variation in load frequency in single and multi area power systems. The characteristics of interval type 2 fuzzy sets inspired the development of interval type 2 fuzzy logic controllers. Interval type 2 fuzzy sets are a subset of type 2 fuzzy sets in which the secondary membership grades are all 1. newline Fuzzy logic control, a task oriented control that has been effectively utilized in nearly every field of engineering and research. However, when dealing with a complicated, unstructured, and, most crucially, uncertain environment, it falls short. Because of the presence of a third dimension known as the footprint of uncertainty, the membership function of a type 2 fuzzy set is also a fuzzy set. The capacity to handle uncertainty is largely determined by the footprint of uncertainty. Interval type 2 fuzzy logic controllers are created using interval type 2 fuzzy sets and are used in single area and multi-area hybrid power systems. newline The proposed research works major goals are newline1. To design a simple fuzzy logic controller for load frequency regulation in a renewable hybrid power system. newline newline2. In a hybrid isolated power system, an interval type 2 fuzzy logic controller is designed for load frequency management. newline newline3. To govern frequency fluctuation in nonlinear connected power systems, a dual mode gain scheduling PI controller based on Interval type 2 fuzzy logic technique. newline newline newline
