Abstract

The subordination and oppression of women have several layers in the society. newlineThe hierarchy of caste and gender relations are specific to the Indian society. The lack newlineof solidarity and growing caste, class consciousness are the greatest obstacles in the newlineways of feminist thinking. The views and philosophy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on newlinewomen s issues and caste in the Hindu patriarchy are of great importance in the newlinecontemporary feminist discourse of India. His deep and historical analyses and newlineexamination of the topic provides the rational and practical solutions to the age old newlineproblems. As a champion of women s rights Dr Ambedkar laid the foundation to newlinechallenge and demolish the patriarchal set up.
