Abstract

An entrepreneur is someone who is an integral part of the business or the business area, especially with reference to the American business culture. They are also considered job creators and catalysts for economic growth. There have been multiple studies that have detailed the characteristics and qualities which are essential to be called an entrepreneur. According to the definition, there is definite criteria required by an individual as an entrepreneur. Entrepreneur belongs to various age group, and gender, with different spectrum and level of qualification and years of experience, level of income, race, and industries of interest. Multiple research studies have indicated that there are few common traits or personal attributes which are shared by successful entrepreneurs like leadership qualities, risk-taking abilities, etc. Entrepreneurs are usually creative, and passionate about their work and carry with them a high level of self-confidence, motivation, and leadership quality. They work towards the achievement of their goals consistently and are flexible to manage risk .Entrepreneurship is a process that grows and develops when all the relevant factors associated with this process are favourable. These factors included psychological factors, traits of entrepreneurs, the available opportunities for business, related policies of the government, etc. The terms entrepreneur and entrepreneurship are often used inter changeably but both these are different concepts altogether. When a woman or a group of women initiates a business idea, organizes, run, and develops this idea into a business venture they are called women entrepreneurs. Schumpeter defined women entrepreneurs are those women who innovate, initiate or adopt a business activity . Although it has been seen that women entrepreneurs have shown ultimate skill and courage in every walk of life it is a fact that has unlimited potential of making more and more contributions to what they have already made and have achieved.
