Effect of sulphur and Zinc on yield and quality of mustard Brassics spp L Under Rainfed Condition

Abstract

The experiments were carried out at Soil Science and Agricultural newlineChemistry research farm M.G.C.G.V.V. Chitrakoot, Satna (M.P.), during rabi newlineseason of 2013-14 and 2014-15. The experiment was laid out in 5 × 4 factorial newlinerandomized block design with three replications, consisting of 5 levels of newlinesulphur (0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 kg ha-1) and 4 levels of zinc (0, 2.5, 5.0 and 7.5 newlinekg ha-1). Seed and stover yield increased significantly up to 45 kg S ha-1 and newline5.0 kg Zn ha-1 application. Significantly higher seed yield (1685.2 kg ha- newline1) was recorded with 45 kg S x 7.5 kg Zn ha-1 followed by 60 kg S x 7.5 kg newlineZn, 30 kg S x 5.0 kg Zn and 45 kg S x 5.0 kg Zn1 and these treatments newlinecombination were comparable from each other. Oil and protein content also newlineincreased up to 30 kg S and 5 kg Zn ha-1. Maximum net return was noted in newline45 kg S x 7.5 kg Zn but maximum B:C ratio (3.40) was obtained from 30 newlinekg S x 5.0 kg Zn treatments combinations. newline
