Abstract

The health of women and their diet are crucial not just for their own quality of life, but also for the survival and healthy development of their children. In order to reduce the incidence of malnutrition in infants and promote healthy development, it is important to focus on the nutritional status, attitudes, knowledge, and practices of lactating mothers. To address this issue, a study was conducted in Delhi titled quotNourishing Status Assessment of Nursing Mothers and Their Infants (0-1 years)quot to evaluate the nutritional status of nursing mothers and their infants. newlineThe research methodology began with identifying the target population, which in this case was lactating mothers with infants aged between 0-1 years residing in both urban and rural areas of Delhi. A sample size of 400 lactating mothers and their infants was selected using purposive random sampling. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire to evaluate their nutritional status, knowledge and practices. Anthropometric measurements, food surveys, and clinical examination were also used to assess the nutritional status of nursing mothers. Nutritional anthropometry and clinical examination were used to determine the nutritional status of the infants. Intervention planning involved developing and evaluating a booklet and dietary application. Data collection was carried out using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS v16) and MS Excel, followed by analysis. Finally, the study assessed knowledge, attitude and practices regarding breast feeding, as well as the nutritional status of nursing mothers and infants, and identified their learning needs. newlineA study called quotNourishing Status Assessment Of Nursing Mothers and Their Infants (0-1 years) Of Delhiquot was conducted in Delhi to evaluate the nutritional status of nursing mothers and their infants.
