| dc.description.abstract | This study investigates the factors influencing the adoption of e-books among undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and research scholar (RS) students across four prominent universities in Delhi: Delhi University (DU), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). A comprehensive survey was conducted to gauge the awareness, accessibility, and usage patterns of e-books within these academic communities. The results revealed significant variability in e-book adoption rates across different academic levels and institutions, highlighting key barriers such as lack of awareness, insufficient library resources, and inadequate communication channels. Notably, awareness of e-books was highest among research scholars, followed by postgraduates and undergraduates. Chi-square tests indicated a statistically significant relationship between user category and e-book awareness, as well as between the perceived up-to-dateness of e-books and the selected universities. To enhance e-book adoption, the study proposes targeted strategies including improved library communication, enhanced user orientation sessions, and increased promotion of e-book resources through academic channels. These recommendations aim to bridge the awareness gap and foster a more inclusive and resource-rich academic environment for students at all levels. The findings underscore the need for concerted efforts by university administrations to leverage digital resources effectively, thereby facilitating greater academic engagement and success. newline | |
