Abstract

Tea is undisputedly among the most adored and extensively consumed hot beverages all over the world. After water, it ranks as the second most traditional drink in the world. This certainly shouldn t come as a surprise to many of us who would most probably be tea addicts as well. In most of the thriving nations, the tea industry is contributing in terms of export earnings and employment. Green tea, accounting for a 3% share in word production, is chiefly cultivated in Japan and China. The black tea which constitutes 97% in the total world tea production is consumed in large quantities across the world. The main tea producing nations such as Indonesia, Kenya, Sri Lanka, India and China constitute 80% of the world export and 77% of the world tea production. newline
