Implementation of Controlling Techniques for Critical Assessment of Power Quality for a Grid Tied System

Abstract

Electrical power systems exhibit various kinds of Power Quality (PQ) issues in any newlinedistributed generation system. It thus, becomes essential for us to investigate and monitor newlinethePQ for maintaining a normal system with its high accuracy and reliability. The present newlineattempt aims to reveal the effectiveness of a proposed system which consists of a solar newlinePhotovoltaic (SPV) array interfaced utility-grid. Indeed, the proposed system is evaluated newlinewith different loading patterns under dynamic conditions. It is revealed that harmonic newlinecontent is reduced at various coupling points, with distortion-less exchange of real and newlinereactive power. Importantly, the implemented Pulse Width Modulation technique (PWM) newlineis able to produce a controlled signal for tracking extreme power under changing newlineecological circumstances. Overall results obtained are found to be satisfactory in the newlinediminution of outline PQ issues. The presented model can be beneficial for various newlinepracticing engineers in their various research activities. Owing to the growing newlinetechnological advancements in control strategies for addressing the numerous PQ newlineconcerns in Distributed Generation (DG) systems, an anti-windup control strategy for newlinediminishing the impact of partial shading is proposed in this present work. newlineIn islanding conditions, a micro grid isolated from the central grid at the Point of newlineCommon Coupling (PCC). The purpose of present study is to determine islanding newlinecondition of that micro grid from the central grid, and then analyze an anti-islanding newlineprevention schemes underthe islanding mode of a micro grid. Different methods include newlinethe switching of circuit breakers and applying various grid faults. In addition, PQ study is newlinecarried to examine the exhibition of AIP scheme as per IEEE-1547 standard. The newlineproposed AIP scheme is implemented and is justified by introducing various newlineunsymmetrical faults. The efficacy of the system is demonstrated by carrying five timedomain case studies. newline
