Abstract
In a wireless communication system the smart antenna developmenthas triggered enormous interest for its potential in the past decades to providebetter service and increasing number of users. The smart antenna systemefficiently used the radio spectrum and proper solution is presented to theproblems in wireless system. An array of elements are called smart antenna. For the directional transmission and reception of signal these smart antennasare utilized. The aim is to estimate the arrived signal from the desireddirection in the presence of interfering signals and noise. The smart antennaperformance is determined by the effectiveness of Direction of Arrival (DOA)estimation and beamforming. In this work, the MUltipleSIgnal Classification(MUSIC) algorithm is used to compute the Direction of Arrival (DOA)estimation and the Mixed Scaling Rotation-COordinate Rotational DigitalComputer (MSR-CORDIC) based QRDecomposition based Recursive LeastSquare (QRD-RLS) algorithm is used for beamforming. The estimation of DOA in array signal processing is the important andemerging area in the research. Among the direction of arrival algorithms,
newlineMUSIC and ESPRIT are playing an important role. COordinate RotationDIgital Computer (CORDIC) based MUSIC algorithm is used to compute theDirection of Arrival (DOA) estimation.
