Development of Intelligent Smart Metering System through Remote Monitoring Control

Abstract

The global demand for energy is increasing and thus is necessary to take measures to effective energy consumption by an appropriate metering infrastructure in the buildings. In smart grid technology a smart meter monitors the electricity consumption of customers. This research focuses on the development of smart metering platform in buildings which monitors the energy consumption pattern as well as physical parameters which provides information for demand side management in building. An advanced monitoring platform is developed in lab view platform which provides information regarding the utilization of energy. For real-time remote monitoring an IOT-based platform is developed in the metering infrastructure. The loss in data packets also examined from the parameters of remote monitoring.
