dc.description.abstractThis doctoral thesis focuses on the analytical and numerical results of the instability analysis of various wave modes due to the presence of negative ions or dust grains in plasma. In the first case, we present an analytical model of an ion beam driven ion acoustic wave in a plasma cylinder with negative ions. The effects of charged dust grain on the instability of upper hybrid wave have been investigated. Two important physical aspect of dusty plasmas namely dust grain charge fluctuations and dust dynamics are taken into account while studying the non-linear coupling between drift waves and lower hybrid pump wave in collisionless dusty plasma. The dynamics of collisional drift wave instability is also examined. The effect of collisional frequency and increase of electron temperature under the influence of pump wave on the dispersion relation and growth rate of collisional drift wave have also been studied. Availability of powerful lasers and their applications had made interaction of intense electromagnetic (EM) waves with plasmas a fascinating field of research. The present research work explored the effects of nonlinear interaction of a high power amplitude modulated Gaussian electromagnetic beam with dusty plasmas. newline
