Assessment of Rural Health Status in Purba Bardhanman District West Bengal

Abstract

Purba Bardhaman district is a newly set up district. It has been declared by the newlineGovernment of West Bengal by Gadget Notification (80/AR/O/2R-3/12 DATED THE newline24TH MARCH, 2017) and with effect from 7TH April 2017. This district is well known newlinefor agricultural productivity in the state as well as in the country. It has very fertile newlineland with alluvium soil. Total area is covered by Bhagirathi, Ajoy, Damodor and their newlinetributary river basin. Physiographical condition i.e. flood plain, flat plain and wet land newlineetc. helps to produce more agricultural products. Socio-economically this area is newlinecharacterized as a rural area. That is why Government has created this separate newlineBardhaman district for development. newlineFood, cloth and shelter are three basic necessities of human life. To avail these three newlinebasic things human health is most important factor for the development of any region. newlineThese crude indicators are very much associated with health and economic newlinedevelopment. As a result Health is wealth of nationand#8223; is common and famous saying. newlineAccording to Mahatma Gandhi, It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold newlineand silver.
