Abstract

This study examines the current state of secondary education in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, focusing on school infrastructure, computer education, vocational education, and incentive programs. It has three main objectives: toanalyze the management and implementation of these components;to compare these aspects between rural and urban schools; and to evaluate differences in the management and implementation of these components between boys and girls from government secondary schools. A mixed method approach and a multistage sampling technique for data collection were used in the study. The total sample size comprised 464 participants, including students, teachers, and educational officials. The major findings of the study exhibited that a need for targeted improvements in rural secondary education and gender-sensitive infrastructure, along with enhanced vocational training and school incentives at the secondary school level is required at the state level. newline
