Decreased drug efficacy due to decreased bioavailability is one of the major problems that arise during the treatment which require the use of high doses in the pharmacological and therapeutic newlinemanagement of disease. Thus, the therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) newlinenowadays have become very prominent for many diseases like diabetes and infections, as we see number of adverse effects related to therapies specially of the dose related adverse effects which can be sometimes mortal. Other problems for decreased bioavailability and decreased efficacy of the drugs are shorter residence time of the drug in gastrointestinal tract (GIT), bacterial resistance in case of antibiotics etc. newlineNovel drug delivery system (NDDS) is playing an important drug developing strategies to overcome the problem of decreased bioavailability by developing various techniques like liposomes, newlinemicrospheres, nanoparticles, transferosomes, ethosomes, lipid based newlinesystems etc. which uses many adjuvants, polymers, and other excipients which may increase the cost of manufacturing and therapy.
