Abstract

The findings of the study provide important insights into the role of Locus of Control and Spiritual Intelligence in predicting Learned Helplessness and Learned Optimism in working and non-working senior adult males. The independent variables, namely Locus of Control, Spiritual Intelligence, and Working status were selected in anticipation of their likely influence over the dependent variables, i.e., Learned Helplessness and Learned Optimism. The study is newlinebased on primary data collected from India and has important implications in the area of the geriatric population, specifically in the Indian context. The report of the study is presented in the form of seven chapters with references and an appendix. The study revealed that working and non-working senior adult males differ in terms of their perceived Learned Helplessness and Learned Optimism.
