Abstract

newline This Study entitled Implementation of RTE SSA in Odisha with reference to Equity and Quality was conducted with descriptive survey as well as qualitative approach with the following objectives. newline To determine the extent of Access ensured under RTE-SSA for Students of Elementary Level under CWSN, Gender and Social category ; classroom environment and teaching learning process;Learning achievement of pupils in major curricular areas like Language, Mathematics, Science and Social Science; Perception of BRCCs and CRCCs about the concept of Equity and Quality . newline The Study was conducted on 1075 Govt. elementary school teachers, 12 BRCCs, 50 CRCCs where 48 Classes were observed covering 2 Classes in each school by selecting 2 schools in each Block through Stratified Random Sampling Procedure by taking every Block as a Strata and collection of data from secondary sources. newlineThe findings of the Study are as follows: newline An increasing trend in Enrolment, GER of Elementary; NER of UP and decrease in the dropout rate .An increase in transition and retention rate from Primary to Upper Primary .Transition rate from Primary to Upper primary level across the Gender and Social category in Balasore district of Odisha needs to be focused. newline The initiatives in terms of facilities; aids and appliances at the State and District (Balasore) level for acceleration of education of CWSN at the elementary level. newline The students of Class-V and VIII of Balasore District performed better in the curricular areas than State and National level except Language better than State Level achievement with reference to the NAS-2017. newline About Quality with reference to BRCCs and CRCCs ,teachers in schools are given onsite academic support; training needs of the teachers; parent-teacher meetings; SMC members participate in the preparation of school development plans and support in the organization of curricular and co-curricular activities; teachers conduct CCE and fulfill t
