An Approach towards Development and Analysis of Caching and Prefetching Techniques to enhance the access of Image data in MANETs

Abstract

newline Mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is expected to offer a major role in future generation communication environment such as Internet of Things and Cloud Computing environment. The adoption of MANETs will aid in addressing various challenges of integrating IoT environment with cloud. The mobile adhoc network can be operated in decentralized network through autonomous and self-organization configuration and communicates through wireless network. Here every node moves in random manner for one position to different position considering specific direction. In MANETs every device will communicate with neighbour and forms a network for forwarding data in a smart and efficient manner. MANETs architecture are adopted for provisioning various realtime application with minimal delay/latency. However, there exist several difficulties such as requires effective routing mechanism, device has less resource capability, effective prefetching and caching technique is needed, neighbour discovery is challenging, wireless medium are shared in nature, the topology and mobility of node is extremely dynamic, varying channel condition, and so on. In mobile adhoc networks, the nodes move freely and forms an intermittent network without a need of centralized infrastructure, reducing access rate and meeting query latencies are major importance. In the thesis, the main aim is to design effective data caching mechanism through content prefetching which reduces overall query latencies and improves data access rate.
