Abstract
Sustainable development in chemical industries has become a necessity to protect the
newlineenvironment and reduce the exploitation of resources so that a healthy life can be
newlineachieved. Organic esters have many important applications in green chemistry as a
newlinebiodegradable solvent in paints, coatings, varnishes and perfume industries. It is the
newlinesource of renewable energy imparting in the sector of biodiesel and aviation fuels.
newlineMoreover, esterification is among the fundamental reaction that converts biomass into
newlinerenewable energy sources that have the potential to change the economic equation
newlineworldwide in the upcoming era. It is a reversible rate-limited reaction. The researches
newlinefurther continue to enhance the process by experimental design, synthesized catalyst
newlineand optimised process conditions so that the process can become efficient, sustainable
newlineand economic.
newlineIn the present work, esterification of mono-carboxylic acids with n-butanol was carried
newlineout in batch reactor outfitted with condenser unit and magnetic stirrer.
