Abstract
Diabetic foot ulcer is a challenging condition in the field of medicine
newlineand surgery in terms of healing. Foot ulceration is common, affecting up to
newline25% of diabetes during the lifetime. Over 85% of lower limb amputations are
newlinepreceded by foot ulcers. Diabetes remains a major cause of non-traumatic
newlineamputation across the world with rates being as much as 15 times higher than
newlinein the non-diabetic population. Prevention is the first step towards solving
newlinediabetic foot problems. The fact is that up to 85% of all amputations in
newlinediabetes can be preventable. The alarming facts given above have shown that
newlinethere is an increase in the number of diabetes and diabetic foot ulcer. Diabetic foot ulcers requires long period to heal and conventional treatments available
newlineones are expensive and need long hospital stay. The diabetic foot ulcer
newlinedepending on the type of wound depth, blood circulation, immunity level, their
newlinenutritional statues, and socioeconomic background were adhere to the
newlinetreatment and ulcer dressing. There are various therapeutic interventions
newlinedirected towards reduction of diabetic foot ulcer. It is imperative that only few
newlineof them were partially successful and few unsuccessful in reducing the size of
newlineulcer. Apart from that these makes hospital stay longer and will be physically
newlineand mentally depressed. There is various treatment modalities commonly
newlineused in physical therapy for wound healing they are as follows 1. Low level
newlinelaser therapy which is considered an effective therapeutic method in wound
newlinehealing it promotes the reduction of the inflammatory phase, favoring the
newlineangiogenesis and the production of extracellular matrix components which
newlinepromotes wound healing. This study is done to compare the
newlinehistopathological changes after physical therapy treatment which will explain
newlinethe healing process of ulcer. Hence, the present study was taken up
newlineincorporating the above mentioned considerations.
